Open Google Takeout Our link opens it with YouTube already selected
You should see one product ticked, YouTube and YouTube Music, and "1 of 1 selected" at the top. If more are ticked, click Deselect all, then tick YouTube and YouTube Music again.
To publish your back catalogue on the platforms you've approved, and start earning from it there, we need our own copy of each file. Google can package up your channel and put it in your Google Drive. You share that folder with us, and we do the rest. Your videos stay yours, and nothing on your YouTube changes.
The goal is more revenue for you. Every video we publish on an approved platform earns advertising revenue there, and you keep 60% of it. Your back catalogue is the biggest lever we have: hundreds of videos that already exist, each one a new episode that can earn on Spotify, Apple, MSN and the rest without you making anything new.
Those platforms don't accept a link to YouTube. Each one needs the actual video file. Downloading from your public channel one video at a time takes weeks for a big channel; Google Takeout gives us the same files in one go, straight from you, at full quality.
On to private hosting we pay for and control, then only on to the platforms you tick below. Nothing is published anywhere you haven't approved.
Everything. You own every video. The listings we run are your show, in your name, operated on your behalf. Any video, channel or platform can be taken down on request, and we delete our copies within 10 business days if you ask.
Your YouTube channel, your Google account, your passwords, or the rest of your Drive. Takeout only makes a copy. We never ask you to sign in anywhere but Google's own pages.
All of this is already in your agreement with us (sections 4.1 to 4.6, 4.10 and 15.3). If anything here doesn't match what you understood, stop and ask us first.
Tick the platforms you're happy for us to publish your videos on. Untick anything you'd rather we didn't use. You can change this at any time by emailing us.
This becomes a short confirmation you paste into your reply at step 5. Under your agreement, approval by email is all that's needed (section 4.1).
You should see one product ticked, YouTube and YouTube Music, and "1 of 1 selected" at the top. If more are ticked, click Deselect all, then tick YouTube and YouTube Music again.
Click All YouTube data included. In the box that opens, click Deselect all, tick only videos and video metadata, then click OK.
Your list may have a few more items than this. Only the two highlighted ones need a tick. Both matter: videos is the files, video metadata tells us which file is which video.
Click Next step. Under Transfer to, change "Send download link via email" to:
Leave everything else as it is, then click Create export. That's the last click on Google's side.
Nothing to do. Google emails you when the files are in your Drive, in a folder called Takeout. Close the Takeout page and get on with your day.
In My Drive, right-click the Takeout folder, choose Share, add this address as a Viewer, and click Send:
theteam@digitalfoxtalent.comThen reply to our message with this confirmation. It's built from what you ticked above:
Tell us. We'll cover a month of extra Google storage so the export can land, and you can cancel it once we've pulled the files.
No harm done. Go back to Takeout and create a new export with Add to Drive as the destination.
You're probably signed in to a Google account that doesn't own the channel. Check the account picture in YouTube Studio, then open Takeout with that account. If your channel is a Brand Account, pick it from the account menu at the top of the Takeout page.
Google sometimes struggles with very large channels. Share whatever it produced and we fill in the rest.
You do, exactly as before. We hold a copy only to publish on the platforms you've approved. The listings are your show in your name. If we ever part ways, you choose: we hand the listings over to you, or take the material down. No exit or handover fee either way.
No. Takeout only makes a copy. Your videos, settings and analytics stay exactly as they are.
